Lung cancer is a common kind of cancer as well as a deadly killer. Many studies point out that smoking is the main culprit leading to cancer, but there are other factors that cannot be ignored! Quit smoking
Smoking is one of the main causes of lung cancer. Tar in cigarettes can damage the cells in the lungs and trachea, causing the cilia in the lungs to lose their ability to clear out dirt and mucus, hence a higher risk of lung cancer. If you’re a smoker, quit smoking as soon as possible.

Eat more fruits and vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins and antioxidants that can help prevent lung cancer. You are advised to eat five servings of fruits and vegetables every day such as green and orange vegetables to protect your health.
Green vegetables: For example, spinach, loofah and Chinese kale are rich in vitamins C and K and folic acid that help keep your lungs healthy.
Orange vegetables: For example, carrots, pumpkin and bell pepper contain rich antioxidants like β-carotene that help reduce the risk of lung cancer.
Receive regular examinations
Lung cancer can sneak up on you with unobvious or confusing symptoms similar to that of respiratory diseases at the early stage. The most effective way to prevent and detect lung cancer is by receiving regular health check-ups at least once a year. You should follow your doctor's instructions to undergo lung X-rays, CT scans, or other tests to fully understand the health of your lungs and detect and treat any underlying issues as soon as possible.
